Hi guys the LT95 overdrive is open for orders Google garagetherapy.com.au based in perth ph. number on web site.
Just to inform everyone i am no a landrover repair business but a retired electrician enjoying landrover life.I saw on AULRO months ago stating that the o/drive is to be available soon so i e mailed Roamerdrive asking questions later i get a e mail from garage therapy then i phoned this landy repairer asking many questions.
thinking it would be a kind or good idea to let all the forum see this o/drive on line.
It would seem this question has been answered by plenty that are pretty switched on when it comes to the Perentie, Isuzu and gearing.
*most think the overdrive wont last.
*A Perentie or 110 isnt doing that much rpm at that 100 / 110 kmph.
*Most of the noise in a Perentie is coming from the soft top and tyres.
Overdrive??

Daz
Interesting points about putting the O/D behind an Isuzu. For those of us running a V8/LT95 combination, the OD looks a very attractive option because of the much lower high range transfer gear ratio in the standard V8 LT95 gearbox.
The question for me is can I get approval from the chief financial officer for the experiment?
Cheers

The standard Superwinch overdrive for the LT95 works fine behind a V8 - plenty still out there.

I am running 4.11 (non rover) diffs in my Perentie. Even with 33's and a 0.996 transfer it would benefit from a 5th gear. It if holds up it would be the cheapest and easiest option out there, and give me the option of going back to 31's !
Although in in the fine print the warranty details refer to standard engines only which probably excludes my turboed Isuzu.
GT-LT95 Overdrive KIT - Garage Therapy
Been running a secondhand over drive with standard 3.5 V8 and standard 5.38 diff ratios and 36 inch rubber for very many years now.
I never had a problem and a Forward control 101 landrover benefits greatly from the overdrive.
I only ever use it in 4th gear to save stress on the overdrive unit.
The Lt95 was designed for the FC101 landrover and the classic range rover.
The transmission lasts well for its designed application .
It was never designed for the 4 cylinder power impulses of a diesel motor and why the Perentie Landrovers sometimes have transmission issues.
From what I have seen of the Perentie Landrovers gearing is not too much of problem, but engine fan and tyre noise.
These vehicles were designed for military convoy speeds and commercial uses for the civie ones sold.
I think no matter what brand of overdrive fitted will get chewed up by the torque and 4cylinder power pulses of a Isuzu, especially if.you are going to use the overdrive in the lower gears and a turbo motor, as well as dropping the engine revs in top gear at highway speeds causing the Isuzu to even deliver more torsional vibe though the drive train underload.
