I'm looking at buying the oricom unit. My bro has one in his new prado and reckon its just as good as his gme in the other car.
On eBay you can get it for about $210 with a uniden 6.5dbi antenna combo.

The Wouxun arrived today in great shape and everything just worked wonderfully straight out of the box. I installed the driver, plugged in the cable and the software read from the radio straight away.
I have used one of the channel files in the Wouxun thread and it is all prepped and working, not checked that anyone can hear me TX yet but can hear chatter on some of the repeater channels.
If anyone wants a copy of my BaoFeng UV-5R img file with the 80 Aust UHF CB channels plus a number of Sydney-region 2m and 70cm amateur repeaters, I can send it to them.
If anyone has an img file with all the NSW amateur repeaters, I'd appreciate a copy.
Anyone used one of these?
Well, I've got one but haven't actually used it yet. A number of members of the local radio club also have them
Ahh for some reason the like got left out of theat post. I mean has anyone used one of these New Zastone MP 900 FM Moble in Vehicle UHF and VHF | eBay I haven't really found any reviews for this radio.
Back to an oldish thread, Repco have a special on at the moment with the Oricom UHF300PK unit at $149. I know these are cheapies but at that price worth it given others experience with them?
Repco Catalogues
I bought an Oricom p&p last year with a small magnetic base aerial - no probs at all - range similar to any of the dearer makes.
The aerial bracket in the catalogue pic looks flimsy, you could make a better one if you needed to.
Hopefully it will include a mounting bracket and microphone bracket.
