You don't seem to have a clue about the Mac / iPhone platform. That's fine - but it's less than accurate to presume you have functionality that is somehow unique - you don't - not at all.

Your assumptions, again, are incorrect. No - you don't need to type in an address with iPhone. Yes - you can navigate using GM or the Apple map app and see street view on arrival. You can also access walking/ bike routes too - OK - only walking on the Apple Map at present - I can live with that. Don't worry, Android users will get the picture eventually.

Heres a kicker for you all.. I navigate by memory....

I have a memory, I look places up before I get in the vehicle and then I just drive there...

    No annoying prompts, just drive....

I remember when most people could do it, remembering streets and places is a lost art...

I've had Macs since 2004. I have a G4 PowerBook, Dual G5 sitting next to me and several other Apple prodcuts. I just see better value elsewhere.

Then maybe you should turn some of them on, and discover answers to questions you've had to ask me. Good luck with your value placement too. Very satisfied with mine.

No doubt Apple makes great hardware they always have. I look at my PowerBook and really you could put it on the shelf today and it'd look better than most laptops out there. Same could be said for the current iPhone. It's just the software I have issues with and I'm a Unix fan from way back. I still recommend Apple to people it's just not for me. Competition is good it's keeps these companies delivering great products.

Got my 64gb on Saturday. Seems to work pretty well. I decided to set it up as a new phone. Seemed a good time to start fresh.
Transfer of music took probably 2hrs to go through. But thats searching for what I want from 120gig and my phone has 9.5days worth of random tunes now.
Speed seems alright. Phone reception is better. Telstra are still the ones stuffing that side up (to much congestion). LTE is currently magic.
Maps are ok. But not as good as the google maps app. NavFree is still free and works much faster.
I am pretty happy with it.

I'm waiting for someone to tell me the iPhone 5 will work with my D4 (or any late model Land Rover or Rangie).....Hang on, my iPhone 4 doesn't work properly with my D4, why should I expect the iPhone 5 to be better!

Late model - that's your problem. iPhone 5 works perfectly with my '56 Series 1 (apart from not being able to hear it )
