    How to wire split tweeter speakers

    I have some pioneer TS-C1002 speakers that i pulled from a car some time ago - can't find the installation instructions and can't remember how they went. There is a 'lump' with 2 wires coming from it, one with a tag marked tweeter, one marked saying amp output. If i was guessing from memory the speaker wire from head unit goes to the main speaker and then the amp output end goes to the speaker and the other end joins to the tweeter wires. I'm just not sure and have googled for an answer and can't find any. If i don't hear anything will just wing it and report back what happened!

    From memory (fading fast...) these are 4" -ok, 100mm - diameter mid-range/Bass. Frequency response will be around 400Hz to 5kHz.
    They'll handle around 15 (full-sized) watts of continuous power, which means every head unit around, and most smaller amplifiers.

    Meant to be used with a tweeter if you "need" the tish... and a pair of bass drivers...or a single sub-woofer for the boom

    You can get away with wiring them as stand-alone speakers, should be fine for talk-back radio.

    No modern "music" is worth, IMHO, the co$t and effort of expensive speakers and amps and 'head' units....

    Sounds like the "lump" is a crossover or a high pass filter. It should have a coil (inductor) and a capacitor (usually a cylindrical looking thing) inside the box.

    It should be wired in parallel with the woofer/ midrange from the amp to the lump where it says "amp output" and tweeters where it says "tweeter".

    Positive on the tweeter filter to positive on the bass speaker and negative to negative .
