While I was at it, I glued on the studs for the TV antennas as well, now waiting patiently for a TV tuner and antenna amplifiers to turn up at the right price.

    Activating Incontrol Apps thru CCF

Anyone here who can edit the CCF for discovery sport? I bought my DS without the incontrol apps, and I learned that it can be acitivated by editing the CCF without hardware change. TIA

I can, but I'd be surprised if the Incontrol Apps is only a software change, on the earlier cars it's an additional module & cables.

I've got an 05 D3 with the base system. Been thinking about adding the rear D pillar speakers in as I have the 3rd row seats in use all the time - so it would be good for the rear seat passengers to have a little more volume. Not really fussed on upgrading to the harmon/kardon system (which I think you mentioned earlier in this post would require a retro fit of the fibre optic). Do you know if its possible to add some extra speakers in with the current wiring?

There is no wiring in place for the sub or surround speakers in the cars with Base audio, and the head unit has the audio amplifier built into it, and only 4 channels, something like 20W each, that's not really going to work well driving additional speakers.

In principle you could fit the d-pillar speakers (and the subwoofer in the tailgate) but you would need an external amplifier to run them, something aftermarket, not OEM as they only run on the MOST fibre optic network. A half-decent car audio shop could do something like that.

I would use the OEM sub and d-pillars though, it's easier that way.

A couple of years back I helped out a guy doing an aftermarket stereo install in a Freelander2, he got the factory subwoofer from a wreck and ran it from an aftermarket amp, worked out well because it fit in the available space perfectly.

That's what I thought may be the case. The factory D pillar speaker trim and speaker would be ideal to use. I'm thinking of using an aftermarket head unit anyway so that'll make running extra speakers easier
