Rather long thread on it here Freel2.com - View topic - DAB+ MY15 OE Retrofit - COMPLETED!! now that the hard work has been done, the next one is very easy.

So you don't have navigation in yours either?
I read through the thread and it looked like really hard work with the trial and error, though it seems a lot of it wasn't required. If it ends up being only the module and the antenna cabling then I'd be taking it on for sure so am keen on his answer to your question there about what would actually be needed as a 'kit' to get it done.

No nav. That aftermarket one looks ok, I'd seen it before and considered but haven't yet bothered to take the plunge.

Just to give you an idea, it took me 3 hours to install the DAB+ in mine, once I had all the parts in front of me. Stu was really figuring out as he went in collecting the parts and sorting out the cables. Now it's been done a couple of times it's dead simple.

And the factory wiring diagrams actually define the length of the cables, which he overlooked in the beginning.

I'm going to update my build thread shortly with the install of DAB+ into my FL2.

3 hours seems fairly speedy. Do you just get the wiring diagrams off topix and hunt down the part numbers from that?

Already have the part numbers for the OEM components from the MY15 Fl2 install, they are the same as the D4 (DAB module, DAB antenna amp to the window, roof dome antenna), so the coax connections are going to be the same too, it's only the lengths of the coax that need checking.

The wiring diagrams are only needed to see what the coax lengths are. So if someone has a copy of the MY14 D4 wiring diagrams that'll make it easy, otherwise have to get them from Topix.

Power connection to the DAB module is also taken from the FL2, it's just an earth and +12 you can get a pre-wired connector, it's only 1 wire that needs tapping into +12V in the rear fuse box, the other is an earth, ring connector onto a bolt somewhere.

Mounting bracket for the DAB module is also there in the D4 if you have a Harmon Kardon / Meridian system fitted.

Last piece of the puzzle is to extend the MOST fiber optic ring to the DAB module, but these can be picked up off ebay for $30 or so. A 1m extension would do it.

    Retrofit keyless entry option possible?

Hi, I have just bought a my15 disco 4 and miss the keyless entry option that was on my Suzuki grand vitara. I have looked and can see that in will need the door handles and door wiring loom well as the receiver and KVM module that I think sits under the bonnet somewhere. I hope that I don't have to reset the ecu
Is this a stupid challenge to take on?

I looked into a Keyless Entry retrofit for a 2014 Evoque, and the end result was going to be upwards of $2k in parts, and a lot of difficulty in making it work. In the end it was not worth the hassle, or the potential long-term problems.

I don't know if you saw a year or two back, there was a spate of Range Rovers being stolen in the UK, literally a crime wave.

JLR response to this was to completely block the programming of key/remote on the Keyless cars, from 2014 onwards. Essentially if you need a program a new key/remote, you have to replace the KVM (it can not longer be re-programmed), and all the other keys have to be replaced as well.

And "non-authorised" persons are no longer "permitted" to program keys on the late model cars either.

And supposing that you did retrofit the keyless system, Land Rover won't be able to help you if you ever need a new key, because the spec of the car doesn't match their records. If a dealer needs a replacement key for a MY15 car they order it complete and coded from the factory in the UK, which they can't do if the security system is not as per the factory build.

I wouldn't get involved with keys on anything past 2012MY, too much of a headache...

Bummer, I suppose it's the advantage of buying new. Thanks for the prompt answer

Because the HDD navigation computer from Land Rover is about $2000 as a spare part and i've NEVER seen one 2nd hand for sale...

The integration looks pretty seamless, especially as it activates the Nav button on the touchscreen. For $1000 it's going to be better value than an OEM retrofit. Assuming that it works as well as they claim.
I contacted them about compatibility with the MY12 Hi-ICE system. They have advised it is compatible, but looking into an install in Melbourne or getting someone to do it in Sydney.

That's great news! Because I looked into the factory Nav some more for 2010-2012 models and it's a nightmare system, especially to update maps (truly only a dealer can do it, and the special hard drive update tool they have is $3000 to buy).

I'd be happy to do the install if they can't recommend someone in Sydney. If they want a "specialist" to do it, well without sounding like an egomaniac, I feel i'm more than capable (you can see what i've done with my own car) and I am actually a licensed Auto Electrician, even though my day job is working with industrial equipment.

What I'd really like to be able to get working is the TMC component of the Navigation system, although I believe this is a no goer because of LRA's position (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread...50#post1222143), albeit they claim it is not compatible with the AU Nav system - which could be possible!
