I don't know if you saw a year or two back, there was a spate of Range Rovers being stolen in the UK, literally a crime wave.
JLR response to this was to completely block the programming of key/remote on the Keyless cars, from 2014 onwards. Essentially if you need a program a new key/remote, you have to replace the KVM (it can not longer be re-programmed), and all the other keys have to be replaced as well.
And "non-authorised" persons are no longer "permitted" to program keys on the late model cars either.
And supposing that you did retrofit the keyless system, Land Rover won't be able to help you if you ever need a new key, because the spec of the car doesn't match their records. If a dealer needs a replacement key for a MY15 car they order it complete and coded from the factory in the UK, which they can't do if the security system is not as per the factory build.
I wouldn't get involved with keys on anything past 2012MY, too much of a headache...
