Changed from BigPond Mobile Broadband on a plan to Telstra Prepaid Mobile

    Hi,
for years we have used a Bigpond mobile hot spot to get internet/emails etc while travelling.
We would 'park' the plan on 1GB/month for most of the year at $35/month and grizzle at the wasted money while it wasn't used at home.

For short trips we would budget its usage around the renewal date and get access to another GB when the renewal date rolled over - Not very satisfactory.

For longer trips we would increase to 5GB a month and then try and down size after we got home. - Not always easy.

I discussed this with various Telstra consultants when we were phoned for occasional satisfaction surveys, and always complained about the 'flat' profile we were forced into, when our usage was in one or two 'lumps' a year. - No useful suggestions were ever offered.

By chance I found a page on the Telstra website offering 20GB over 1 year Prepaid. This shape fitted our usage exactly.

The Telstra shop supplied a new SIM and fitted it to the Bigpond hot spot, BUT forgot to change the device settings from Bigpond to Telstra, - Grrrrrr! - which entailed another trip into the shop after some frustrating hours trying to sort it myself.

No association etc with Telstra, I thought others may use data the same way we do.

    Cheers

We just have our data shared between mobiles, tablets etc. and hotspot if necessary...
