I have a RAM mount for my iPhone5 on my motorbike. Never had an issue with it. I have been using the RAM from when I had the iPhone 4 version.

I'm using an Iottie in the D5. Works a treat. Very flexible re install the the snap clip for the phone works well.

That thing in the middle of the holder is that a magnet to hold the phone. I am not sure those are clamping the phone would work with the Pixel 2 as the sides of the phone are squeezed to access functions and those arms would most likely turn these on. Likewise the back is a bit high so you cannot access the finger print scanner at the back to wake up the phone.

Edit - I just went onto their Aussie site and the only mount they have for my phone is for a bike.

Thanks for the tip - I appreciate it.

Also using the RAM X-Grip with windscreen mount. Had it over a year, and has never fallen off or vibrated even with a 7" tablet on it

Not a magnet. Its a switch that when pressed by the back of the phone when you push it into the cradle, releases the two spring loaded side arms to come in a grab the phone. The bottom arm is adjustable in it height to allow for different phones.
