    Radio and bluetooth cuts out

Hi, my pioneer radio cuts out after a few minutes. Whilst using bluetooth or listening to radio I loose all sound. System is still powered up, blue tooth connected radio station is displayed just no sound, then after a while 10 minutes and more it just starts again.
So I thought radio buggered si take it out buy new pioneer to save rewiring under dash, same thing happened. So seems init stays powered up with all lights etc I could rule out positive power, so would it be an earthing issue ?
First radio was already installed when I purchased car, discovery 2 td5.any thoughts please
    Rob

Today I rewired the radio with the supplied plug in box, as I used the existing one previously as same brand radio, pioneer.
Well, I followed a you tube for power source and colors to appropriate power sources and earth, all good there, radio powers up turns off on when it's supposed to.
Next get manual, and follow speaker colour codes to wire up to stereo colours, all good there, except no sound at all.
I normally use a AA battery to determine which speaker is what, as in left front left rear etc, but no sound was heard when doing this either, has anyone had similar experience with discovery 2 audio?
    Regards
    Rob

You don't have one of those awful power amps under the seat(passengers, I think)?
Could be the issue if it's there.
IIRC there may be a CD changer under the drivers seat, and the power amp under the pass seat. Check for both, disconnect if there .. and trace wiring from the amp to the speakers.

Then you have what I'd call the 'long shot' possibilities.
I also have a Pioneer radio that I installed in my D1. I had no amps, but I think a CD changer under the driver seat. It wasn't connected anyhow, but ripped it out, to get a bit more space under there for other stuff.
Anyhow, this Pioneer unit I got is a DAB+ type unit, and I like DAB radio .. much better than non digital other than reach.
I also use a Qi(wireless) charger holder for my phone. It's not always on, but 99.99% of the time I have it charging my phone whilst it's on there. Otherwise I just pull it's micro USB plug to stop charging.
What happens tho(and where the possible long shot notion comes into play!!) .. if I use DAB+ radio, AND have the phone charging on the Qi holder, DAB reception stops intermittently. I think it's causing interference in the 174-230Mhz range, and once the buffer is filled again I get reception, and then the cycle happens at regular intervals. Worse under high voltage transmission lines, and clears up again just past them.
For me the resolution is easy .. either dont' listen to radio, or pull the micro USB plug to stop charging the phone for a bit(what I usually do).

So the point is that intermittent behaviour could come from a source you're least likely to expect.
What other devices, accessories do you have installed/running .. etc. ie. do you have a GPS/Navigation doodad always on? Do you have something like a speedo corrector? .. all that kind of stuff.

Also! you said no radio, no Bt .. do you get sound with say a memory card or USB input device?(I assume a recent model Pioneer, and they usually have an Aux input for either a phone or USB thumbdrive. Also, have you tired the Aux input using your phone(instead of Bt).

    Thanks for reply,
I did have CD 6 stacker under driver seat I removed that for the room as well, there is something under passenger seat want sure what it is thou.
No other devices running today when rewired.
Il try under passenger seat and unplug see what happens I suppose I'm not to confident aa I run a new earth and permanent power comes from supply I run under dash from aux battery, only wire I reused was a green that was accessory power as in no power with key off, power on first click and on run position. Only other thing powered off that constant 12 volt is a dash cam plug.
What really confused me and has never happened before was the no sound from any sparkler when using a AA battery they have always made static noise when hooked up.
