    D4 2.7 EGT Probe Options?

    Looking on eBay etc, there is a bewildering array of probe options and prices.

    I'm proposing to fit the due any day new Madman EGT gauge into the RHS (non turbo side) of my 2.7L D4. The Madman can accept "any J or K type probe" - just then needs calibration.

    Dazza tells me I need to buy a straight (not right angled) version, but is there anything special to look out for (eg tip type)?
    They all seem to come with about 2 metres of wiring.

    I also need to double check with him that the probe will still be mounted onto a blanking plate ex the EGR, and not tapped into the actual exhaust manifold.

    Any experiences or advice appreciated.
