GME make one that is rated well
I don’t have personal experience but have read a good review, not sure where.
Hi all
I have been looking at these. There is a good review on youtube. However I am concerned that it will become outdated quickly which is why I am hesitant at the $900 price tag.
I am often in places where the phone is sitting on 1 bar 3G which limits on doing anything on the phone.
Thoughts?

Alot of people have them here on the house and swear by them. It is so frustrating living in that marginal zone. I have just ordered one for the car, and have tried a few times to get one ordered and installed at the house but awaiting installation. The Local Auto elec has something that costs $175 that the neighbours are using at their house but I haven't seen it and don't know anything about it.
I also know the other neighbors down further got a Cel fi installed and Telstra tacked in on their Bill and they paid it off over a year or so.
Watching this thread with interest.
I have an external antenna, mounted on the vehicles roof rail, and use a telstra phone, the antenna plugs in the phone, and it works very well.
We only use it while away or on the property which is in western QLD.
I can have no bars at all and will get 4 bars with the antenna plugged in.
I would much prefer to have something like the Cel fi,as myself and SWMBO can then use our iPhones, which would be more convenient.
My concern is the Cel fi will not have as good a range as what i use now.
No one seems to know if the range will be better or not, using a Cel fi.

Be aware that a lot of these boosters are illegal to use and can lead to large fines. Our company was caught out with a similar unit trying to boost the signal in a workshop when an (ex) manager thought it might be a good idea. It caused issues on the network and they tracked us down in under a day - fine was many thousands I think. Telstra will sell you a legal unit that won’t interfere with the network, but they aren’t cheap.
Buyer beware on these type of things. If you buy outside of the carrier, get a copy of the certification to use on the network. This unit says it is, but I’d check into that as most claim the same thing.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
My boss out west of Moree has a Cel fi in his ute. As soon as he pulls up next to the shed, my phone goes from 1 bar to 4. Works within about 20m of the ute.
He's now considering getting a few more for the other vehicles/machines on the property (if he can get some sort of a crop off this coming harvest).
When he got it, he was told that it's the only brand currently approved by Telstra for use with their mobile network.

We investigated these for the house at Maleny and were told the Cel Fi is the only legal unit. Be aware they only work on the designated network. For example, an Optus phone won't work on a Telstra Cel Fi or vice versa.
Telstra are coming to install a Cell fi on Monday 27th August at our house so I will be able to report back on how good or bad it is. $600 for the unit and then the same again for antenna and install as a rough price guide. They tack it on to your account. I also have a new work car coming and have ordered a Cel Fi for that as well. Hopefully ready to be picked up this Friday.
