There is a mob in Australia that will rebuild speakers to better than they were new. Their details have been put up on here before.
I've also shared details of an aftermarket solution I did and the minor modifications required to make it work. I'm sure you'll be able to find it with a search.
As for headunit fitment. Standard opening is 1 DIN although the factory headunit has a taller face to make it look bigger - this is misleading.
Some plastic can be cut away which will get you close to 2 DIN size (approx 75mm height).
Double DIN requires extensive dash modifications. There's a number of examples of people who have achieved this only - many have close to a factory look. Personally I can't see the effort benefit any more now that there's awesome single DIN headhunts with large external screens like the Alpine Halo 9 series for example - plenty of threads already on the fitment of these.
Noting that you have the factory subwoofers be careful how you connect an aftermarket headunit to the factory amplified. The factory amplified uses speaker wire connections but it's not actually a speaker amplified input - it's actually after the RCA output from your headunit (you'll need a headunit with four RCA outputs - 2x front and 2x rear). You'll need to do some customising to make the connection work - personally I think fitting RCA connections on the factory amplifier wiring as previously documented on here is the easiest, otherwise a hight to low converter can be used but that's complicating things and making another possible noise input.
