Reversing camera question - dual view?

    Hi all

I am looking at buying a reversing camera for my 130. I'll soon have an aluminium canopy on the back so will be solely relying on the external mirrors only.

Can I get a camera that views out the back as well as the tow bar (to aid when hitching up trailers) or do I need two cameras out the back? Ie one mounted on top of the canopy to view the area behind the car and one camera mounted above the tow bar to focus only on the tow bar?

Then the big question - what brand to buy?

    Thanks

Did you source a solution? I managed to do this on my Toyota fitted with an after market "Head Unit" using an input selection switch. I can recommend "Safety Dave" cameras.

Do you only want a rear camera or do you also want a dashcam and mapping?
We bought a Polaris GPS dash mounted unit and have two cameras on the back of the 110.
The low one is pointed at the tow bar hitch and is very useful in reversing. Tapping an icon on the screen changes to the high camera which can see over trailers.
Using another icon turns on the high camera while going forwards, which is good for seeing who is behind.
We are buying a caravan and Polaris is going to connect a 3rd camera on the back of the van.
The Polaris unit includes a dashcam as well as mapping. They are not cheap, but perform multiple functions.
    Hope that helps.

We have just had a camera fitted to the rear of our new caravan, which we can use both when reversing and when going forwards.
We also have a separate camera pointing at the tow hitch when reversing.
Getting a head unit wired in which can take two cameras is more expensive though.

    Yes you can.
A lot of the reverse monitors have duel input,Beith 1 input triggered from the reverse signal
That is, 1 camera is on, and when you select reverse, the other camera is activated. Come out if reverse, cand it switches back.
Can also change input from button on monitor

Yeah I'm also on the lookout for an AFFORDABLE solution which offers 3 cameras switchable.

    1. Dashcam front.
    2. Dashcam rear (high)
    3. Towbar camera.

The affordable part is the tricky bit.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
