Been living with a battery drain issue on the 300tdi 130 for a couple of months now.
Thought it was related to the reverse camera and display that I did a quick install on just before we went to Tassie back in May - combined with less frequent use due to COVID lockdowns etc.
the camera and screen were wired direct to the battery, but I’d always turn the screen off when parked.

It would be flat as a maggot in the morning, but once jump started and driven 40mins to work was fine for the rest of the day.
Next day, might *just start, but probably not.
Figured the infra red on the camera was kicking in at night and draining the battery.

I’d found that throwing my folding solar panel on it during the day when not driving it, then it was generally ok next morning.
Disconnecting the camera overnight seemed to help.

Did that Friday - but still had to jump start it Saturday morning.

Figuring the battery had finally had enough of the abuse I swapped it out yesterday, and was poking around with the multi meter to find an ignition switched source to run a relay for the camera from.
Got a few sparks from the self resetting breaker that supplies the electric brake controller for the van.

Long story short - the guys was loose in its case, and I think I may have found what’s been causing the battery drain.

You can just make out the line of arc marks on the inside of the case where it’s been shorting.
