    Satellite SOS

Interesting announcement from Apple today. iPhone 14 will have a satellite emergency SMS feature. This is obviously not a replacement for an EPIRB or sat phone when going remote, at least not yet, but could be very welcome at times. Perhaps the feature will expand over time.

True John, but Apple has a way of putting Australia high on their list for updates.
To me this is a feature in its infancy but I don’t think Apple, who market safety features in their devices, such as fall and now crash detection, will dawdle with this one. It will require coordination with the authorities in all the various countries. I for one hope that this feature develops.
