Bluetooth Connectivity for Non-Bluetooth Car = Bluetooth Transmitter ... which one?

    Hello All,

Do you use a Bluetooth transmitter in your non-bluetooth car? If so which one would you recommend?

I have an MP3 device with bluetooth so I can play music. For example I have a mobile stereo unit in a shipping container.

My daily driver car does not have bluetooth. Some research on Amazon had about 20 pages of bluetooth transmitters that range in capacity to just being able to play music from a bluetooth enabled device, to being able to be used as a hands-free mobile phone hook-up, to being compatible to 'Assistants' such as Siri or Alexa, to remotely operating the kitchen sink. The bulk of the transmitters seem to plug into the cigarette lighter - or whatever the new swank word for a cigarette lighter is called now.

Here is one I found... Amazon.com: Car and Driver Bluetooth 5.0 FM Transmitter for Car, Dual USB and Type C PD 18W Car Charger Wireless Car Adapter Receiver Siri Google Alexa Assistant for iPhone 12/11/XR/Xs/X/ Samsung S10/S9 and More : Electronics .

Any assistance narrowing down a vast field of possibilities would be greatly appreciated. Remember that milk ad on TV where the shop assistant rattles off all the different types of milk for sale. Then the customer just says, "all I want is milk that tastes like real milk"! I think you might be getting the picture.

My main factor is being able to play music off the MP3 bluetooth and for a transmitter to hook in via the cars radio audio system and speakers. Sure the other stuff would be 'nice'. However ... I am happy to pay more for a device that is reliable and provides clear audio. As in less features - read 'fluff' - and a unit with better quality sound.

    Kind regards
    Lionel

I bought a bunch of cheap bluetooth receivers for about $3 each, they plug into a 3.5mm audio jack and have both a built in rechargeable battery and a usb cable.
Worked quite until i fitted an android head unit.
