Hi, my old LR cassette radio was working nicely until I stopped. On restarting the LR it would not start. The clock had also stopped so I checked fuses and replaced one that had blown. The small LCD screen on the left hand side showed a number and flashed up the preset radio numbers when I pressed them but radio would not work. I tried the security code but the LCD screen would not respond. I disconnected the battery and then got three dashes on the LCD screen, however, it still would not accept the security code (which I've been able to use before).
So fuses are OK, I've disconnected and reconnected power and seem to have entered security mode, but cannot get the radio to show or accept the security code. Is the unit finally dead? A shame as I'd like to keep the original set up.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
I had a similar issue with my 1999 Td5, slightly more modern radio. I found a mob in Melbourne that repaired it. If you know the manufacturer you should be able to search it. I think it was Eurovox or something similar. Same units were fitted to Holdens but obviously with Holden branding.
Cheers
