Tx3400

I'm installing my TX3400 in my D2 tomorrow. Would it be possible for you to post a pic or email a pic of where you have placed yours please?

I was thinking of the plastic panel above the rear vision mirror (where the sunroof switches normally are).

If you install it in this spot (running the wiring along the windscreen and down the a pillar presumably). The wiring might be either a tad unsightly or a real PITA to install, also the head unit might have to be scewed into place considering it will be defying gravity this also would depend on weight, you may get away with using silastic or double sided tape. Also where would you be placing the base unit? I doubt it but would the need for extra long wiring from the head to the base unit degrade the signal quality and clarity?

Presumptions

If the aerial is mounted up front then would under the dash be a good spot for the base unit to minimise the length of cables to the aerial.

If the antenna is mounted at the rear of the vehicle would having the base unit mounted under the drivers seat (middle of car) be the ideal to minimise the length of wiring involved

The big question is: Do the length of the wiring and cables really make that much of a difference to signal quality and strength.

I've got a TX 4400 mounted there in my D2.
Ran the wires behind the facia and down behind the righthand pillar.
Mounted it with the bracket. It's been there about 2 years and it's solid as, never going anywhere.
