Well, I've had mine a while now...
We got one each (the wife and I) and they're brilliant...
Best portable device I've ever had... And its amazing how much I utilise all its functions now.

I couldn't do without mine. Having said that I'm in the process of cancelling my Optus service and switching back to Telstra. I did expect that optus wouldn't be great in country areas, but I was astonished to find that it is nearly useless in the Brisbane CBD and suburbs...
Agree completely with the last two comments -
Perfect, useful - does everything...
Optus though is appalling (intermittent 3G at best throughout Darling Point, Sydney...), also poor reception in the Southern Highlands...
so the question im about ot ask is the gps fuction good enough to run oz explorer????
cheers
However, if you are in a mobile reception area it does something at Ozi explorer can't to... it gives you full satellite mapping! Cool.
Slightly off topic so apologies but does anyone know if the iPhone will sync with my MS outlook. I currently sync my entire contacts, appointments etc etc with my phone and it works well. Hoping the iPhone will do the same albeit with perhaps some other software.
Thanks, Mick
I went with Optus - then went back to Telstra after a month. Optus coverage here in western Sydney is appalling. I couldn't make phone calls from inside my house.
Re unlocked phones, are they still branded?>
For example, my son's Nokia N70 3G was bought outright so would work with both Optus and Telstra SIMs. But it had all the Optus branding and button allocation. I downloaded the appropriate software from the 'Net and de-branded and updated the firmware on it.
I've had my wife's Nokia 3G 6280 unlocked from 3 so when she's ready to sell it, I'll de-brand it to remove the 3 branding. (She wants a Nokia N95).
With the iPhone, are maps downloaded as you need them (thus incurring lots of download charges) or are they stored on the phone?
