I have a monthly account with Optus. My Motorola RAZR V3 died...don't ask:mad:
SO: bought an Optus prepaid Motorola V3 (GSM) (yep, they're making them again) for $98 total cost... it's a phone...quad band. I believe it has a camera but it is a phone. I pay for calls on my monthly bill as normal but I didn't have to get the SIM changed etc etc etc. Plus, it has an external aerial socket on the rear cover (pull out the tiny rubber plug).
Bought an external aerial patch cord which included a small induction cradle for about $20. connect it to a 6 db antenna and it works very well...the induction cradle means that I don't have to connect the aerial direct to the phone. Plus it then allows me to charge the battery while driving. When the phone rings, I just press speaker and it works well as a hands free...simple
cheers
