You probably don't need to tether. Think laterally!

Do a search on 'micro sim adaptor' and I think you'll find that you can just put the adapted iPhone 4 micro sim into the pad, maybe adjust settings, and away you go. Carrier can't tell, no need for a separate a/c.

I want to tether my MacBook to the 4 for internet access and haven't had time to find out how. I know it is commonly done via BT.

My iPhone has a normal sim and my iPad has a micro sim, so the wrong way round? Can't use the iPhone sim in the iPad, the sim is too big. Mike

One other thing, the iPad reception is way way better than the iPhone. iPhone reception is very poor in my opinion, so wouldn't want to be relying on it for the Internet. The iPad reception is excellent, it must have a much bigger aerial.

Jailbreak your iphone 4, best thing you can do to it as you beable to do things apple dont want you to do.... then get an app called MyWi..... connect your ipad(or any wifi device) to the net via your iphone then...

Had a brochure only yesterday that had a micro sim adapter for around $10-.Went in the bin though so can't tell you who it was.

Well I'm no guru here. Got an iPhone 4 with a new plan. Idea was to back contacts up to a MacBook and put sim into Motorola mob for work. Have phone damage / loss issues with the work I do.

Can't because the 4 uses a micro sim which needs the adaptor to work in the Motorola.

Searched for adaptors and found that US IPad users were using the adaptor to use one sim for what might have otherwise been two data accounts.

Actually, the iPhone 4 and the iPad both use the micro sim so I guess that I could just swap it to the iPad when I want to but I was trying to avoid doing that.

And I would have to buy the iPad that takes a sim card for extra $$$

HTF does it access the net without a sim??

Here is something I found which I'll try, either BT or USB. No JB's or hacks and tethering is available as described in my iPhone 4 general menu in settings:

"With USB Cable.

1. Plug in your iPhone4 to your Mac.
2. On your IP4 go to settings, general, network, Internet Tethering,
3. Turn it on. Choose USB when given the option Blue tooth or USB.
4. Mac will recognise new network device and hook up.

There you go and Enjoy.

For Bluetooth just turn on your macbook bluetooth and do the same.

You own a mac not a windohz, its really that simple "
