hmm,
still no BSOD's,,
but it has been hanging,, mostly on screensaver, requiring restart.
does this help?

I also ran scannow and it produced a 24MB (yes MB!) notepad doc,,
and at the very bottom it said
"Transaction completed. All files and registry keys listed in this transaction have been successfully repaired"
are there "only" files and registry keys to fix here?
Are you running Minefield?
no,(wtf is minefield?)
but I'm also having random cd-rom openings and closings,,
and my wireless mouse has stopped working:eek:
I might reinstall vista,,,
Firefox 4 beta. I've been running it for a few weeks. Much faster than 3.6 and very good at recovering after hangs - which it does a lot. It's also doing weird things to my trackpad, mouse and coming out of sleep.
I've had 5 openings, oops 6 in the time its taken to startup and get to here:confused::confused:
Try this:
Go to:
Computer > Properties > Windows Experience Index > Advanced Tools.
Under: 'Performance Issues': see if there is an entry for
'Startup programs are causing Windows to start slowly. View details.'
If so click on it. See what information you can find in there, But be carefull, you can stuff a lot of things if you change too much in this area. Let u sknow wht you see there.
As you also have a 200 event ID you might also see somehting about shut down problms under perfomrance issues. Let me know if there is any usefull info in these areas.
no entry for startup issues,,
the only performance issue is I'm running 1920x1200and windows is concerned!:p
otherwise nothing,,,
[never been there before:cool:]
