I got lucky and scored a Mk 4 model with recovery discs for $35 at auction. It had no hard drive or power cord so it was a bit of a punt but for that price it was steal. new drive and cord and it was fine. Took all of 15 minutes to put in the drive and recover everything!
Thanks 'tastrax'
Although the information seems overdue for an update, the listing is helpful and provides a better understanding of the model numbers.
Just as a counter for toughbooks - I've been successfully running ozi on a cheap 10" netbook linked to a bluetooth GPS, it worked pretty flawlessly on our trip up the cape and back. Most of the time the screen was closed unless we needed it at the lime and it just sat on top of the cubby box, quietly recording our tracklog.
(all for $350)

That's basically what I've been doing for some time Martyn but my portable 'puter up and died a few weeks ago hence the reason for the current research for something maybe a little more robust.
I haven't been looking exclusively at the Toughbooks as they are fairly old technology but there's not a lot to choose from in the tablet style that are still capable of running the full version of Ozi.
