android to garmin
hi
i am new to this section of the forum and hope some of the sages here can point me in the right direction.
i have a garmin 265 with blue tooth phone conection and that worked fine with my motorola V9
now i have a motorola quench with an android system, it hooks up to the garmin alright but after approx 2 mins it drops out and the phone is no longer connected. i took it back to the dealer and he had a fiddle with the security (switched my sim card pin number off) and thought he had fixed it but got outside and down the road and we are back to the way it was before.
any ideas, hints .clues
thanks

I would suggest that the phone is not seeing the Garmin as a hands-free device, and hence, when the phone is not transmitting anything, the connection is dropped.
My Android only opens up the Bluetooth for 2 mins for the transfer of files, unless it is connected to a hands-free device. After this time, it shuts the Bluetooth off.
Now, as to the solution....Hmmmmm
I am not sure why you are connecting the 2 devices together. If it is to use the Garmin as a hands-free for the phone, then there may be a setting in the Garmin that needs to be changed.
