Inc's Windows System Trojan / Virus and Cleanup Procedure (08/15 Edition)

(the fine print - i do this among other things for a living - this is a cut down version of what i use to clean up windows based computers - i offer the advice on the condition that you own all the bits if it breaks! not that i have ever had an issue with it! make sure you check the latest version as things can change quickly in this industry.)

    Software you'll need to download

    1) AdwCleaner

    2) Junkware Removal Tool

    3) Rkill

    4) ComboFix (not needed if running windows 8, 8.1 or 10)

    5) ATFCleaner

    6) CCleaner Portable

    7) HitmanPro

leave only one anti virus package of your choice installed on the computer and disable it until reboot if possible

Close all open programs and internet browsers

    Run Adwcleaner

Click on Scan and let it run it's course
    Click on Clean.
    Confirm each time with Ok.
Your computer will be rebooted automatically.

disable your antivirus package until reboot

    Run Jrt
hit enter and the program will run it's course
it will pop up a text file saying what it has done, have a read and then exit and the program will close
always reboot the machine after completion

disable your antivirus package until reboot

    run Rkill
it will run it's course and then pop up telling you when you can proceed

run Combofix (not needed if running Windows 8, 8.1 or 10)
    click i agree
click okay if it finds your av and again
click ok if you get the update warning
click okay if you get restart combo fix dialog
click i agree and again twice maybe for av warning
if it wants to install anything click yes and do what it says to do, no buts!
    click yes to continue
it does it's thing which takes a little while
it may ask you to reboot, do so
if it finishes and shows the report without a reboot, read the report then reboot

    run ATFCleaner
    select all then untick cookies
    then click empty selected
    then exit

    run CCleaner
    by clicking on cleaner.exe
    click run cleaner
    then click on registry icon
    then scan for issues
    then click fix selected issues

    run HitmanPro
let it do it's thing. If it finds something serious you can sign up for a free 30 day trial and clean up what it has found.
i regard Hitmanpro as a last sweep cleanup just in case something makes it thru the above checks.

    reboot the computer

update your antivirus and do a full system scan

    your done!

if it hasn't fixed your issue then you really need to see a professional to get it sorted correctly.

    hope it helps!
