I had three machines to update and, conscious of bandwidth, I downloaded the win 10 disk image from Microsoft and used that for the install. Much quicker (about 45 mins for the download and much the same for each machine).
If you can download the iso from work, so much the better.
Oh well, the update just failed.
C1900104 error code.
Just updated mine, took one and half hrs.
I think I missed something in the Telemetry conversation though.
Where do I find this setting? I can't find anything relating to it so far in the settings options. Though IT this isn't my forte.
- Hold down the Windows key and tap the R key
- In the box that opens type 'services.msc? and press the Enter key
- In the ?Services (Local)? section locate ?Connected User Experiences and Telemetry? and double-click it
- In the ?Service status? section click ?Stop?
- Under the ?Startup type? drop down menu select ?Disabled? and then confirm this and close the window by clicking ?OK?
So the fix suggested by microsoft facebook page did not work... not impressed.
The person that decided auto update was a good idea should reevaluate their life's choices. (How strangely PC of me...)
