    W 10 HICCUP

My w 10 computer went into sleep mode today. On trying to wake it the screen flashed white 5-6 times followed by flickering colours. I then got my home screen but there was a coloured square about 2 1/2 cm square just off centre. I shut the computer and rebooted. The colour square has gone but now if I play card games they run slow and the card being moved lags behind the pointer and moves in a jerky way. Other functions seem ok. I have run my virus and malware scanners and I had a heap of pup programs which have been cleaned out. Computer still running slow. Any help?

    - Perhaps the PC is doing updates in the background. The anniversary update came out last week which can hog resources.

    - Run task manager and see what programs are hogging the resources (ctrl+alt+del, then click task manager)

    - What antivirus program did you run? Malwarebytes is a fantastic free one that is a small download.

    - If it is only card games that make the computer lag and the initial problem was a display problem, there could be problem with your display adapter. This could be caused by a windows update installing a less than ideal driver for your adapter. Go to device manager and check out the display adapters, then right click and choose update driver.

    - If all else fails you should be able to just do a system refresh that will leave all your files in place but refresh system files, drivers etc.

What type of PC is it?

Problem solved by changing power option to fast. It seems that this is a common problem.
