    It works quite well. Its only 3c a minute in most countries.

    You can even use it for quick local calls and be way ahead if they are short.

    Yeah, been on Skype for years, but only tend to use it when I'm travelling to call home...I'm "jknight99" on there.

    People still use Skype?!

    Its kinda like, KaZaA - eventually people realised how crappy it is and have since moved on.

    The cutesey add-ons and colourfulness of Skype wont be a good selling point for long.

    These days VOIP offerings from most ISP's or standalone carriers like MyNetFone have better rates, more reliable services - and theres no childish crap attached.

    VoIP has been around longer than Skype (Which is little more than a proprietary VoIP of sorts, anyway), but adoption for the home is slower due to the technical challenges that aren't there with the chat/voice/video offerings like Skype, Yahoo, MSN, Google, etc.

    Skype is renowned as one of the best of it's type with quality that's better than most of the other options.

    Also, 3c a minute to dial out to most places in the world sounds good to me!! No ongoing charges either. I don't know how they make money out of it.
