My Telstra inbox was unreachable via webmail for more than a month. I had to call a tech and told him many times what the problem was (wouldn't believe me that it was their end). Eventually it got sorted. Fortunately I was able to access emails by installing Mozilla Thunderbird on my main laptop so I wasn't too worried.
Win 7 and whatever Firefox version is current.
I think computers hate me! Where to next?

I wonder if emptying your cache would help?
Done that. Even disabled add-ons in firefox. It seems silly that I can log in to other sites requiring a user name and password except this one. I have verified both with Telstra and I am using the correct ones. Why can I log in to this site ok using a different search engine? I makes no sense. Now why has this type changed colour and underlined all by itself and I cannot remove it.

Just to be sure that you're password and or login name are absolutely 100% accurate check this:
In FF, go to Options(3 lines in the toolbar)
Go to Security tab on the left hand side.
Page opens, in that page is a [Saved Logins] button. Click this.
A new window opens up with lots of URLs on the left hand column and the saved login name in the next column.
In the lower RH corner is a button that says [Show Passwords]. Click this.
(you will see a security notice, click yes.
After you click the yes button, the window with your usernames will now show a column with your passwords visible.
There will be a long list of usernames and passwords, and to sift through all of them quickly to get to the telstra specific URLs, type telstra in the top most search bar.
This will now show ALL URLs and logins on all telstra websites saved in FF. You can clear any individually, or there's a button to clear them all.
And you're right .. the problem does seem to defy logic!
ps. I also have one weird issue with my Optus account(s).
Optus are so backwards, they can't integrate my mobile accounts with my cable internet account. (to me this just smells of incompetence masquerading as an attempt to upsell!)
.. anyhow, if I log into my Optus broadband account, it's close to impossible to then login to my mobile account. No idea why, but the mobile account seems to get stuck with the same username/password as the broadband account.
Both passwords are the same, but the usernames are different. If I clear the relevant optus links in the password manager, it clears the system in some logic defying manner, I can then login to my mobile account, and then log in to my broadband account after that.
But if I log in to the broadband account first .. i have to go back to the password manager and .... never ending repetitive loop.
Arthur.

that proves it is a setting or saved data in your profile OR with your mailbox on the server IMHO
Firefox ESR is the extended service release version that is pretty much garanteed to be business class stable.
and it doesnt have the back doors and data integrity issues chrome has.
it may have issues, but very few compared to most other browsers
try Vivaldi if you want something with a different interface.
have you rung telstra support?

I spent over an hour talking to Telstra support, to no avail. Never fear.... it was a user problem. Somehow I had 2 saved user names on that site. One with incorrect spelling in the extension. Found how to delete it and removed. All working ok. I knew it had to be something to do with how it was set up but couldn't see it . Instead of having .au, I had entered .at The second one was correct but I just clicked on the wrong one because it came up first. Oh well I activated a few grey cells in you guys and myself , so thanks for the assistance. I have learned a lot more about Firefox over the last week. Now my headache can go away![]()
