    Anyone use NordVPN?

I did a search and found NordVPN was recommended by PC Mag.

I've bought a 2 year plan but its performance is woeful. When connected, I can't get to a number of websites, e.g., Google, AULRO - they time out. Forget trying to download anything from Kodi Covenant or even a printer driver from HP!

I've tried servers in Oz, UK, and USA. I have CyberSec turned off.

I think I'll cancel and ask for my money back.

I use it, mainly for geounblocking purposes
It is slow at times, and I find I have had to jump around servers at times until I find one that works.

Not an expert, just read a few things that make me curious.

If you connect to aulro for example, via VPN, what do you see in the http address bar - "www.aulro.com" or something else?

And if your computer is post 2008 approx, assuming NSA wants to use the Intel Management Engine or AMD Trust Zone (which of course they don't), does having a VPN still protect you?

Where is the server based? You may well be trying to connect to Aussie based servers from an overseas server.

I use PureVPN and would recommend it. Some tests within Australia it was actually quicker than not using the VPN, so it has no performance hit. You can also select which server you want to use, an Australian based server for general browsing, or a US based server to overcome geofencing.

It has a browser plug-in for general use, or you can use the app to protect the whole system, such as when using web enabled software (I'm looking at you, Microsoft).

You can also download apps for Andrioid and iOS, so you can protect your portable devices as well. Most comforting if you are using public WiFi.

No idea, but I'm running an Intel Core i5-4460 at 3.2GHz.

I've tried the AU servers without much luck. It seems better with the US servers but there's no guarantee I can connect.

I have the app on my iPad, too.

If I don't have much success with NordVPN, I might try another.

I haven't tried Nord. I have tried with various amounts of success IPVanish, SlickVPN, ExpressVPN. Just trying out DNSTrick.

Mostly, this was to get around geofencing, as Netflix suddenly started policing it. Prior to that I was using Unblock-US. I found that none of them work with Netflix, yet my daughter has no issues with DNSTrick. For other things, ExpressVPN is by far the best I have tried. So many servers, quite fast. If you have the right sort of router there is an app for it, so all connections in your house are connected through it. A couple of the others cover your phone/tablet. I never explored Express for this.

It comes down to what you are looking for.

    What browser are you using?
I was seeing some bizarre behaviour from Chrome recently, although its back behaving itself now. I'm wondering if its got anyting to do with the adblocker Google are supposedly rolling out.
