Better to have it than to not have it. Great for confirming and refreshing, especially prior to going into a scenario. The info is always with you and in a situation you or a helper can use it to confirm you haven't forgotten anything. I think it's a great idea as an aid to first aid trainingQuote:

I think your right about the personal training,, however, I'm thinking depending on how the APP is upgraded/updated, which I assume it would be,,, (although we all no what the word "assume" relates to).
I've done the course several times in the past for work, and every time I've gone back, somethings been changed. I've let my certs run out now, well and truly, so an App for someone like me might be good to catch up on new info or techniques which may have changed.
Hands on however, is certainly the best thing to do, where you actually have to "practice" various things. Has been invaluable in the past for me, and funnily enough, mostly on camping trips etc [bighmmm]
For me it’s not so much FOMO with my phone because I don’t follow social media, but I use my phone everyday for most of what slunnie has included above + more.
... I will admit that if I can’t find my phone I can have a mild panic attack until I do! It’s become part of my brain. I have lots of knowledge, ideas, memos, contacts, etc on it. I use this the camera all the time, including to enable me to read small text LOL! + photographing documents to send myself and others.
Like Mick says it’s a computer, but also a hard drive for many of life’s necessities.
Having said that, I also have no trouble choosing to switch it off. I often put it in flight mode (no calls) but have wifi on, so I can choose how I use it. Often I also choose to switch off altogether and i love the feeling of relief of going away where there is no signal.
All of which is also mildly concerning, because it is getting harder to do, both because the world is now so connected and demands constant connectivity. But also because I’ve come to completely rely on my phone for so much. Navigation, research, banking, diary, to name just a few. These devices kill self reliance. I used to have a notebook, paper diary, paper maps, etc - none of which needed a charged battery and connection to function. No power, no wifi! Not a good feeling if you need it!
First Aid reminder on phone - great, but no substitute for knowing it. Repair manual for Defender on phone - tick! But no use without practice, tools and parts.
Ear cancer? Who knows
FOMO? Not really, more like FOLBC (fear of losing brain connectivity).
...or FOLA (fear of losing autonomy)!!
My first aid is up to date, but the apps are useful for confirming my understanding in situations, particularly in a crisis, if I'm on my own or when the symptoms are unclear.Quote:

I regularly do first aid for school camps and events. Doing another one next week. Mostly it's minor stuff, but I did once spend a chilly Wednesday night in the Emergency Ward of Canberra Hospital with an injured student. Emergency wards are an eye opener, I can say.
Our organization pays for every staff member to stay up to date with first aid, as part of our duty of care for students.
If nothing else, I encourage everyone to download the St Johns and/or Red Cross apps and read them carefully. One day it could save a life
