The bit on splints was good.
Whenever I buy a new first aid kit I usually junk all the petty injury stuff (band aids and such) and turn it into a trauma kit.
This includes Good quality bandages, suture strips, antiseptics, wound pads, the gel type gauzes for burns and a couple of those inflatable splints as most of these things are rarely found in the first aid kits you buy.
I have found that the vast majority of commercial first aid kits would be pretty useless for use with a major trauma.

Yes, Band Aids are useless. I throw in spray antiseptic because it is so useful. I must ask for inflatable splints to be added to ours.
Just did some research on inflatable splints and was impressed at the range and usefulness of those available. Not that expensive either. I have asked admin. to buy some.
Certainly better for immobilising than two sticks and a roll of Duct tape!
