    Yes thats important, set the switch on the side to repeat, I just set 2.4 on mine & its works fine , Press the Link button on repeater then go press the link button on your modem , the setup is automatic .

    If you don't have the magic wifi link button on your modem you have to set up the old fashioned way.

    Well success at last .The range extender needed to be about in the middle with about 35 meters either way,not practical with no power or shelter so made up a 80m cat 5 cable and run it accross the ground with the extender in the shed in access mode sucess! .As we had 5 old routers and just the one extender I decided to try a router which worked perfect. With a redundant underground telephone cable in a 3/4" conduit we pulled the cat5 cable and a spare thru to the shed and hooked it up and **** **** **** nothing .3 routers later and Bingo Many thanks to all
