A few questions for iPad people

I got an iPad and I'm not used to iOS just Android and Windows PC

    Here's what I want/need to do.

1, Access a website (I can do this)
    2. Download photos which are attached to messages submitted to that website.
2b Resize those images if >1mb and reformat to jpg if other format submitted
    3. Cut and paste from that message into fields on the website backend.
    4. Upload photos as attachments (basically would need to tell it the 'path' to where the image is) at least that's how it works on PC.

The Apple sales genius told me that an iPad can do anything a computer can do.
So are there any particular programs I'd need to download for this or should it just work?

Another question - is it possible to have two 'windows' (apps) open on the screen side by side (i.e. split screen) in a landscape format and if so how do I accomplish that?

    Thanks

The Sales guy lied to you, but you can do most of that from what I know. I use my iPad around 99% of the time but save any real work type stuff for the PC as it’s much easier.

Downloading pics should be as easy as touch and hold on the screen for a second and you should get an option to save the pick or else they’ll be a box with an up arrow type of thing to allow you to do this.

Resizing pics will require an app - go to the App Store and search ‘picture resizing’ - take your pick from the dozens on offer and find one you like.

Cut and paste is takes a bit of getting used to and isn’t half as easy as using a mouse - touch and hold your finger on the text and one of the words should turn blue when a dot on each end - drag the dots to each end of the text you wish to cut and paste. A bar will come up giving you the option to copy, etc. Touch the screen where you want to paste it and it’ll give you an option to paste.

Not sure exactly what question 4 means sorry - when posting pics here or other places I copy the path or BB code depending on what I’m doing from Flickr where I keep all my pics.

I’m sure there’s a split screen function or app, I just don’t use one.

All this will have you back in front of your PC quick smart. I find the iPad excels at certain things and is portable but harder work tasks are just easier on PC IMO.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Ok most of that is similar ot android then. Yes a PITA.
I' certainly use a PPif I could but this is for business and is unrelated to my daytime job and obviously I can't (and wouldn't) use a work pc and work time for that!

Besides work time is for being on AULRO isn't it...
(Im on my lunch break its OK )

I don’t do this much, but the way I use is to Drag up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the dock. Then grab the second app you want, with one finger and drag it to the right hand side of the screen.

should give you two apps open at once and you can resize the ratio by dragging on the line between them.

    hope this helps.

Screen shots are handy- hold the home and off buttons at once to take the shot. They will then appear in your photos.

Also to have a split view (two screens at once) you can hold your finger down on the double page symbol on the top right hand corner and get a window that says ‘split screen’. The newer iPads have this function.
