For me I'd get the V3 because it has a bunch of upgrades installed and the newer interface is a bonus. I'm definitely a tinkerer but I have limited time at the moment

Lots and lots with the pro running either marlin or the alternatives
I use a custom version of marlin and Repetier
The later models not so much because the display is somewhat custom and not generic stuff like the pro
Both will serve you well

SubscriberAttempted to print an Anderson plug bracket I found on thingiverse but both times it gets to about 75% and falls over, I could add a support bit that adds another hour to the print time.
Going to see if I can rotate it 180 degrees so it will be self supporting.
