    What can you do with the 3 pros software? I hadn't read about modifying that.

    For me I'd get the V3 because it has a bunch of upgrades installed and the newer interface is a bonus. I'm definitely a tinkerer but I have limited time at the moment 3D printers

    Lots and lots with the pro running either marlin or the alternatives

    I use a custom version of marlin and Repetier

    The later models not so much because the display is somewhat custom and not generic stuff like the pro

    Both will serve you well

    I might never mod it but at least there are plenty of upgrades i could do before moving up in the range.

    Attempted to print an Anderson plug bracket I found on thingiverse but both times it gets to about 75% and falls over, I could add a support bit that adds another hour to the print time.
    Going to see if I can rotate it 180 degrees so it will be self supporting.
