Win 11 pro vs Win 10 pro?

About to pull the pin on a new Laptop, the old HP is dying.

Any disadvantages of Win11 over its predecessor?

    Cheers

Upgraded to win 11 pro today. The start button and a few other visuals is the only thing I can see changed at the moment.

Haven't really played yet. It was a simple update on my I7 dated laptop only 3 ish years old. Update all my work computer is the question I guess.

"From a surface level, I think the user interface changes in 11 are weird. Not even just the taskbar being defaulted to the center, but the entire right-click context menu being bundled up into something that’s just confusing to look at. Basic tasks take just that few seconds longer as your brain has to readjust between the old and new, word to the icon.
They’re unnecessary changes for a desktop environment and looking at things like the iPad or Android tablets, even more, unnecessary when you consider that these platforms just use straight-up traditional menus – in a sense – with little icons, rather than ditching words entirely." Link

Quite an easy read but still left me wondering whether I should take the option of the free upgrade. Bought a new laptop a few months back that comes with the option of upgrading to 11 from 10. At this stage, I am happy enough with how 10 works after a week setting it up when I got the machine and cynical enough about forced upgrades and obsolescence to be cautious of the next move.

Anyone give an update on W11, please? My laptop "Update" keeps urging me to install it.
    Thanks.

No issues for me. They have moved a few things around, most task from the centre of the taskbar not on the left. Performance wise no problems at all.

I like TPM despite it not allowing me to install WIN11 of two of my server/ desktops.

PC mag list the good the bad and the ugly

I honestly have no problem with it at all. I have not used much more than my remote access and note I only have Win10/11 64bit on any of mine. Both Win110 and Win 11 pro are working together well for me as well. Mostly Win11 now. Just two just out of speck computers DOH.

No dramatic differences at all for free
