Good news is the USB ports are working, they were disabled in the BIOS.
Bad news is still no luck with the windows security. I will do a search for that trojan hunter and see what i can find. I am convinced it is a virus now so i am inclined to agree with inc. Matt

Nortons is nearly impossible to delete completely.
Try starting up in 'safe' mode - F8 after the post screen.
When in safe mode do all your 'cleaning'.
Make sure you don't have another AV running in the background.
