Mac - selecting more than one item

In Windows, if one wants to select more than one item, one clicks on the first item, then holding down the shift key, one slects the last item. All items between the two are then selected.

How the heck does one do the same thing with a Mac?

We have hundreds of pics we want to select for a slide show and we don't want to click every single one of them.

Hmm. Won't work. Holding the shift key doesn't make any difference.

Ron, click on the area somewhere, then push (and hold) the 'apple' key, then push the 'a' key.

    'apple a' selects all...

alternatively, click on the first pic, hold down the 'apple' key, then click on the last pic, all will be selected...

if this still doesn't work, let me know the application you are using...

    cheers, GQ

    Thansk, Inc.

    I'll look those pages up.

My wife keeps asking for help on her Mac and I've got no idea of how to use it - nor do I want to know.

Ron, Mac OSX, is not too dissimilar to using Windows,

    iPhoto, maybe?

I took me a while to get the hang of OSX, coming from Mac OS9, until I had to spend a few months tutoring with Windows

Re the other: mouse click on first pic...
    press AND HOLD apple key...
    mouse click on last pic...
all between first and last should be highlighted.

    Cheers, GQ

must depend on the type of mouse you use

on my 2 button mouse apple key and left click selects individual files to add to the selected list.

shift and left click select everything in between.

osx is much better with a two button mouse
