    help lost network connection

OK...what have i done, loaded xp pro onto a pc that was given to us.....a P4 thats a few years old and now i go to set it up for adsl no go because i cannot get past step two find your network connection and right click properties.... i rings the ISP helpdesk and they tell me i first need to load the driver......was i supposed to save something off the pc before i loaded xp pro

i search the web for the driver, by the way it an optima wordpro serial no. 1017647-0603-003

i came up with the following, downloaded and installed but i cannot see the network connection thingy
    Optima Support File Downloads

i have pulled the case off the it looks like the the network connection is part of the mother board

there is a seperate card but it it only takes a phone connection...two small for the network cable

by the way this is my first ever time of rebuilding a pc so going easy

what else do i need to do?????

i have managed to get the laptop up and running.......funny thing is i have never touched the operating system and everything is there

any legit copy of XP will require you to "activate" it,, This is how microsoft stops theft.
like most things there are ways around it,,
