Umm, I don't understand. When you are on a cell, the cell no. is shown on the the line above the sheet, e.g. D28. Also the D above the column is highlighted as is row no. 28.

If you need to go to a cell directly, press F5 then enter the cell no. and press enter.

what i was hoping for is when in cell P19 the colum and row become shaded if you know what i mean so you can run you eye up and across quickly

IF, and its probably a big IF, I'm getting the right vibes select the data you are working with and go to format|autoformat and pick one of the selections. (Maybe )

If the cells you are mosts interested in are quite away from each other perhaps try 'Freeze panes'from the window menu. Follow?

    Kelvin,

I don't think you can do what you want to do without some VBA code. "Conditional Formating" is the closest you'll get.

This is what I do also. Some rows and columns (down the left and accross the top) will freeze in position while you can move the rest of the sheet over so that cells of intersts are adjacent while you work on them. The rows and columns that freeze will be dependent on which cell is currently selected. The frozen panes will be above and to the left of the selected cell.

Yep, freeze panes is your friend in this instance I would suggest....you can do it for both the X & Y axis so the headers and left vertical list remain on screen
'99 Manual TD5 D2.......heap of money spent on it and it has ended
