Thread: t4 UP....

ok so after fixing the "I want to be asleep" fault in the toshiba that Im using to setup my t4 Ive spent a week trying to sort out why it wont work....

dog chewed network cables dont work so well....

the box set I got had a damaged network cable no dramas I have 1 or 40 of them hanging around so I grabbed the most convenient one which happens to be a 40m monster that I normally use to link 2 houses worth of xbox geeks together when we used to do that in townsville. run the cable checker on it and it was all good, when i did the cable test. naturally life cant be that simple so after installing the cable and getting the green lights for some reason the laptop decided that as soon as it booted it wants to goto sleep. Fixed that. for a week Ive been trying to get the T4 software (which installed first go) to talk to the T4 diagnostics module. 10 minutes ago I got desperate and unplugged a known good and working cable from my patch board... Sucess.

something (I suspect one of my dogs) has munched about 5 areas on my big long cable where it was looped up on the back handles of the T4 unit.



So all I have to do now that its passed the initalisation tests is load up all the differnt rovers and we're in business anythng that IVe got the cables for (list coming) I can test. I ve got the ecu interrogation cables+ modules I think Ive got the air suspesion stuff minus the space block to set it and Im fairly certain that one of the modules is the ABS/TC lot.


so in a few days/weeks once I get it all sorted look for the "Free T4 clears" thread.

In the meantime anyone who is willing to turn up for "plays" while Im sorting it all out is welcom but untill I have it all sorted out no guarentees on what I can clear/repair with my kit.
