running a boom box on 12volts

so, we now have lots of 12V goodness in the camper,,
    and a perfectly good
    small (240V/battery ) cd/radio/tape boom box.

what the best way to get the boombox to run off our 12v 2 pin outlets?

it has no external plug for power other than 240.

Pedro, how many batteries does it take? if it's 8, then It's easy as 8x1.5v is 12, you just need to either connect to the correct battery terminals in the back, or (more proffesionally) open the boombox and wire in an external power socket.

if it's not 12v, then a small regulator circut can be built in the back of the boombox to drip the voltage to the right level

    What he said ^^^^^
12v wire it up n plug it in !

I suppose you might want an inline fuse. Maybe use crocodile so you don't destroy the original contacts for the batteries.

it would be insignificant by car standards, it should have it's power consumtion on the back, and in reality, on batteries they use way less than that.

I would guess in the region of 350-500 mA, less than 1/2 amp at any rate
