Text seems to be fine, but I've had major issues with graphs, tables and pictures in the different versions of word (pre 2007 days). They'll turn sideways, crops will disappear, sizes will change.
Even between two different builds of word 2003.
Which is why I now do all reports on OO, despite having a paid for version of Office Basic 2007.
Like he said - Word just couldn't get a brochure layout right for me but OO did a perfect job. OO also allows you to create PDFs from your documents.
Back to the topic of the post - for those who want to be able to read Office 2007 docx etc files in earlier versions of Office there is a Viewer and compatibility pack downloadable from Microsoft's web site. I had to use them today.
Here Download details: Word Viewer
