Well, whatever has been done, it is a VAST improvement. I was at the stage of feeling like it was a chore to navigate around the site, but now it's quick and easy.
A BIG THANKYOU to all responsible.:D

yep faster for me lately, even with optus:)
Well my computers must dislike AULRO - 2 minutes to open a page (and then to close the page). Doesn't matter which computer I use or my own ISP or my neighbours (with approval). I clean my computer every few days. I do not have any issues with the other forums or web pages - just AULRO.
It now takes forever to read new posts - any ideas??
Garry
mine is running fine ,tis much better since upgrading to sat b/band,apart from the second of lag time ,tis extremely faster than the old telstra big puddle dialup (28800 kbps ) or something like that ,was slow enough to hit the page button the put the kettle on,make the cuppa, then drink it ,then the page may nearly be loaded, now dont have time to leave the room!!!! :):):):)
I'm getting the occasional server time out and needing to reload the page.
All fine after reload, and not slow.

I posted a thread a few weeks back ( answering this thread LOL) that I fixed mine by disabling all but one firewall.
If you have a network router you possibly have 3 firewalls
Windows
Your virus checker
A firmware firewall in your router.
Disable all but the router firewall , and set the settings to ignore pings etc and it should be fixed.
I have had lightning fast response almost always since I did this.
I have Optus ADSL2 and typically get 3000Kbps but have had 7000, so my line is fast. Also log on to ZDnet for a speed check.
Occasionally AULRO may take a couple of seconds and ExploreOZ same.
Utube can sometimes be slow also, but my stalling has completely gone.

Thanks Philip,
I only have the standard windows firewall - thats all.
I have ADSL2+ and even when AULRO is going really slow my line speed is normally about 2 mps.
I have disabled Adobe Flash Player as it may be causing problems as well but has had no impact.
I have noticed that it is slow only during high demand periods. Note though that my neighbour uses a different ISP and I still have the same problems using their connection from my laptop via wireless. I have not problems with Exploreroz, Outerlimits, Overlander, Series 1 Garage, 101 Club, the LRO forums, LR Series 1 Club, 4wd monthly forum or the Jag Lovers forum - AULRO is the only one that runs really slow and then at high load times.
It is running really slow at the moment.

for me that really only leaves one thing, the size of tpg's connection to the pipe networks IX in brisvegas where the aulro servers are housed.
