Hope its not for the car.
Would take up a bit of space on the dash.

There's not that many manufacturers: Sony had (a few years back) outsourced all screen manufacturing to Samsung, Philips is all made by LG, Lowe and many others by Sharp, Hitachi and Fujitsu had a joint plant, Toshiba and NEC, etc.

It also gets a little more in bread when you narrow down to a particular LCD panel size. When 24" first hit the market there was only one or two manufacturers of the actual panels. Didn't mater which brand you bought really.

Often the key differences are in the additional circuitry. This is particularly obvious in TV receivers like the Sharp and Lowe but not always as obvious in the monitors.

Also Acer, Dell, HP, Apple etc don't make their own monitors anyway so they design a casing and put their brand on it.

If you want a really good monitor look at Eizo.

there is a cople of things i can say to this,, an yes i play games an build my own pc from the ground up, if it was me an i have been there befor,, i wouldent realy bother with a 24", an pay the little bit more for the 27", alot better looking, an a lot more crisp, cos iv gone from a 19-22-27" lcd, an the 22 is great at a great price, but for pormance a 27" you cant beat,

the next thing is do you have a pc that will run that res, an at a deacent FPS, the worse thing in the world is playing a game an it looks like a power point slide, 1920-1080 is a very high res, an will take a lot of pc power to run it smothly,
once you have it you will never go back

what system are you running

good enough to play Crysis with nearly everything maxed.

I think the box will run it ok,,,
