Post How to open Rave Manual on CD

I had some problems opening a RAVE workshop manual on CD. What ever I did I got a message asking for the plugin: CSML:MultiUser. Although it is a PC software I tried to view the contents in my Apple MAC as well and that came up with an encryption warning text which told me the PDF was well encrypted. So what to do ? I tried installing a newer version of Acrobat, then an older but to no avail. The CD kept opening the Acrobat software on CD and asking for CSML:MultiUser.
In a moment of a serious cross-linkedbrainwave-attack I came up with the idea to copy the whole CD to a memory stick and to delete the autostart file and then to start direct from RAVE.exe . BINGO !!! That works like a breeze. Side advantage: the Cd I got was not the best and made a hell of a noise in the drive. That is eliminated as well. If your HD permits : copy the lot in one file to that and you're set to go for ever.

I copied all the files over to my HDD and have an icon on my rocket dock to open it, its just a pity that Rave is embedded into an old version of Acrobat.

Doesn't Rave work on the latest version of acrobat? I recently had to format my puter and used the newest acrobat, I haven't tried to use Rave since.

The pdfs and Acrobat are an embedded type setup that are designed to run from an .exe file. It cant be started through Acrobat externally, ie, one installed on your computer and even trying to access the pdf file directly comes up with an external plugin required that Adobe dont service as a download.

I am actually looking at it now as we speak. I have the exe file in code, have found the startup string, but cant back engineer it to open up with an external acrobat due to an incompatability due to the plugin....

    Hello Jaap,

.exe is a Windows extension, what did you use to get it working on an apple mac?
Also did anybody try to get the Parts EPC disk working on a Mac?
    Cheers,
    Daniel
