I personally found it slower than Firefox in all the tests I did apart from the illusion that it was loading quicker because of the way it loaded.
Im somewhat reluctant to put software on my computer that was developed by people who released something as bad as itunes lol
Thank goodness for that, I was starting to think I was the only one who couldn't stand itunes. Everyone keeps telling me how great it is.:(
Well - based on previous posts, I downloaded Safari into XP
I gave up on IE ages ago, but tell me please how Safari is better than Firefox or even IE.
It is fast because it is a cut down browser.
I could not find much speed difference between my firefox 3 installation and Safari
Where are my tabs?
Where are the sidebars if I want them?
Where is the web based bookmarks synchroniser with other PCs.
How can I pimp Safari with extensions like I can with Firefox?
Last straw was when I went to log on to my work webmail server, to be told that Safari was not supported by Scalix:mad:
I have often wondered why most of the Mac installations I have come across have installed Firefox in lieu of Safari - now I know.
Open source software is the future.
I will look at one of the newer Intel Macbooks running Virtual Box for my windows applications, but I doubt I would even bother loading Safarii.
And - I think I will still have to keep up the anti-virus software to run the windoze apps.
Another case of Mac is best syndrome.
I would like to consider Macs, but they run so little of my installed software natively, that they will remain a niche product till the virtual PC world takes over.
My $0.02
I am trying Safari. It seems good except for one thing, it keeps shutting down in the middle of things particularly when looking up phone numbers. It has done this a couple of times. Jim
