    Roland Pen Plotters

Clean32's thread on old systems reminded me that I have two Roland DXY1100 pen plotters in my electronics workshop. I haven't used them in years.

I wonder if there's any use for them?

There's a name I haven't heard in years. Roland were about the best around for quite some time.

I'm sure I've read of them being used as the basis of vinyl lettering (sticker) cutters...

You can get get blades and holders to suit most pen plotter. I have been seriously considering it for my HP 7585. About the only thing stopping me is the cost of consumables while getting the hang of things. Oh, and I need to fix the I/O card, serial buffers got fried and HP-IB is an absolute bugger to get working in XP.
