well I fixed the scroll problem,I uninstalled the old mouse drivers as mentioned and had a brilliant thought that i might as well uninstall some old programs that i don't use anymore at the same time. This brainstorm deleted some needed windows files as well,So after about 8 hrs work and a lot of swearing not to mention a re-formated hard drive the bloody mouse wheel works.I think i will stick to simply fixing landy's from now on,thanks to everyone who tried to help,

You didn't first, download & use that Registry repair program, before doing all the above

    Mike.....this program is very good

I use C Cleaner which Whirlpool seem to give a good rap about free registery cleaners.

As an experiment on the work laptop...superb testing facility, I might add, I registry cleaned it with C Cleaner. Appears normal.

I then registry cleaned with the Glary program and it came up with heaps more errors. So I cleaned that up as well.

At this stage everything is working fine......IT are on standby

A WORD OF WARNING ABOUT REGISTRY CLEANERS

YOU WILL FIND OTHER CLEANER PROGRAMS THAT WILL FIND EVEN MORE ERRORS TO FIX .... DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK ... MOST WILL CRASH YOUR COMPUTER & CAN BE DESTRUCTIVE ... I SELECTED THIS ONE AFTER HAVING IT RECOMMENDED ... ALL THE OTHERS CRASHED MY COMPUTERS

Sorry for the caps .... but I can't stress it enough .... I went through a long process to chose the program "Glarysoft" .... Do not be fooled into using other cleaners and think that they are gonna be great ..... Some programs will find 2000 errors to fix, in comparison to "GlarySoft" finding just 350 errors to fix, when you use it for the first time

Generally I use it once a month and only find 4 to 14 errors for it to fix

It will serve you well .... I have used it for over 4 years now

    Is this your disclaimer?

No, I fully understand the risks involved. And yes there are some 'magnificent' programs out there which just so happen to find a gazillion problems which can only be fixed by purchasing their product.

The CCleaner program looks tame compared to this one and as stated before Whirlpool usually suggest it as a mild cleaner anyway. If you want to go further you would need to pay for it.

This is a good find...thanks for the tip.

    My pleasure

I tried the ... CCleaner program also ... but it was no good

Bet your computer is running real fast now .... You could earn cartons from others, if you stuck the program in their computers

That program folder that you downloaded ... Just copy & paste it into your thumb drive .... and then you can transfer it to any other computers that you have ...
